“The Great Closet Escape” Campaign — Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix needed a fresh way to communicate its value: solving everyday wardrobe frustration with stylist-curated convenience. We developed a 30-second spot built around a playful, memorable visual—folded clothes literally coming to life and running away from the viewer’s closet. This metaphor dramatized the universal feeling of “nothing to wear” and positioned Stitch Fix as the effortless fix. The campaign highlighted how Stitch Fix delivers clothing that fits, flatters, and actually stays in your rotation. Through humor, relatability, and strong product messaging, the spot reinforced Stitch Fix’s promise of style made simple.

THE CHALLENGE

Consumers often feel overwhelmed by their wardrobe and underwhelmed by the pieces they already own. Stitch Fix needed to stand out in a crowded fashion space by showing—not just telling—how it solves the everyday struggle of getting dressed. The challenge was to dramatize the frustrations of a disorganized or outdated closet in a way that was emotional, universal, and visually distinctive, while still highlighting Stitch Fix’s ease, personalization, and convenience.

THE SOLUTION

We created “The Great Closet Escape”, a character-driven visual concept where old clothing literally runs away from the closet—humorously symbolizing how poorly fitting or outdated pieces no longer “belong” in the customer’s life. This attention-grabbing metaphor set up Stitch Fix as the hero: a stress-free styling service that sends curated outfits that fit your life, your style, and your body. By pairing whimsical animation with real-life moments and clear product benefits (try at home, keep what you love, free returns), the campaign delivered a high-impact message: Stitch Fix gives you clothes that won’t run away—because they’re finally right for you.
